First, make sure you're on the latest version of the app from the store — we regularly ship fixes. For live kirtan you'll need an internet connection, and the Daily Hukamnama needs one to refresh; the bundled Nitnem banis play offline. If a specific track still fails, please email us the bani name and your device model and we'll look into it.

Open the Reading section (Reading Bani on Android, Read Banis on iPhone) and choose a bani, then pick Punjabi, Hindi or English at the top. The text is paged: tap the left or right of the page (or swipe) to turn it, and use the text-size menu to make it bigger or smaller. The app remembers where you were. The original PDF is always available from the same menu.

In the reader, open the text-size menu and choose Reading colours. Pick Auto (follows your phone’s light or dark setting), Light, Dark, Sepia or Custom, where you choose your own background and text colours. The sample updates as you choose, and the reader only changes when you press Done — Cancel leaves it as it was.

While reading, tap the headphones to hear the bani from about where you are. While listening, tap the book to read from about where the recitation is. You’ll be asked to confirm, and when going to the reader you can choose whether the audio keeps playing. The position is approximate — recitation isn’t evenly paced — so it may land a few lines away. It works for banis that have both audio and text.

Long-press your home screen, choose Widgets, find Audio Nitnem → Daily Hukamnama and add it. It shows as much of today’s Hukamnama as fits, and tapping it opens the full Hukamnama in the app. To change its language or text size, press and hold the widget: on iPhone choose Edit Widget; on Android use the widget’s settings (some launchers show this as “Reconfigure”). By default it follows your reading language.

Tap the heart on a bani. Listening and reading are separate — hearting Japji Sahib for listening doesn’t mark it for reading. On Android, use the Favourites tab; on iPhone, tap the heart at the top of each list to show only your favourites.

On the player, tap the moon icon and choose 5 to 60 minutes, or the end of the current track. The audio pauses when the time is up.

Open the Guru Granth Sahib Ji and tap the # button. Type an Ang number (1–1430) to go there. The Punjabi and Hindi PDFs begin with an index — type i and a number (for example i12) to reach an index page, or tap Index. Tap the middle of a page to hide the bars for full-screen reading.

On iPhone, tap the “?” at the top of the main screen. On Android, open the menu, then Settings, then App tour.

There's an optional “Remove ads” subscription in the app (Settings → Remove ads, or the Support/Donate screen). While it's active, all banners are hidden. You can manage or cancel it any time from your Google Play or App Store subscriptions.

The app re-checks your subscription each time it launches, so fully close and reopen it once. Make sure you're signed in to the same Google/Apple account you used to subscribe. If ads still appear, email us and we'll sort it out.

No — donations are a separate, one-time way to support the app and are kept independent of ads. To hide ads, use the “Remove ads” subscription. Either way, thank you for your support. 🙏

Yes. The Nitnem banis (audio) and all the reading PDFs are bundled with the app and work with no internet connection. Live kirtan, online stations, and the Daily Hukamnama require a connection because they stream fresh content.

Tap the Cast icon on the Now Playing screen to send audio to a Chromecast or Cast-enabled speaker on the same Wi-Fi. For the car, connect your phone to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and open Audio Nitnem from the car display to browse and play hands-free.

The Hukamnama is fetched from our server each day, so it needs an internet connection. If it doesn't appear, check your connection and try again shortly. If the problem continues, let us know the date and your region.
